One day as we were designing the i4u Sail Rafter, our craftsmen discovered that the specially engineered design for the innovative telescoping mast/ "Boom Gallows" (for quick, 1-person raising/lowering) needed a special cut. We needed an expert to make sure this could be done, and when we called a local craftsman Harry, who had taught shop at the local HS for 40 years or so, he helped us identify the type of tool, test the cut, and bring dreams to reality!
Well we had a lot of fun visiting him at his home shop and with a bit of custom tool fiddling we accomplished the two cuts! That inspired an upgrade to our own shop with follow on purchase of the tool needed.
